Enjoy relaxing time at home knitting the Monet Hat by Cate Savard. Such a fun project, the hat has little “windows” that look like they are revealing another color.
This optical illusion is achieved by simple slipped stitches! Magical! The hat is knit in the round in two colors of super bulky weight yarn. We love the look of a solid/tonal paired with a more variegated colorway.
Our store sample (main pic) was knit in Manos del Uruguay Franca in colors Black & Sunrise. Designer Cate Savard knit some of her hats in Malabrigo Rasta. Hedgehog Fibres Super Bulky is also great for some really fun, happy colorways.
Materials:
- 1 skein each of two colors super bulky yarn (Manos del Uruguay Franca, Malabrigo Rasta or Hedgehog Fibres Super Bulky)
- Size US 11 & 13, 16” circular needles
- Size US 13 double point needles
- Optional Faux Fur Pom
