Norwegian Knitting Thimble
Sunday, August 13, 11am
Simplify stranded colorwork with this nifty notion. While you may think this bit of twisted wire is just jewelry for your finger, it is actually very useful for managing your yarn when working stranded colorwork. Join us for a live demo where you will learn how to thread the yarns & knit using this little invention.
Three Needle Bind-Off
Thursday, August 17, 6pm
A Three Needle Bind-off is a handy seaming technique that is used quite often in patterns. It is wonderful & relatively simple as you are seaming two sets of live stitches while binding them off at the same time! During the demo, learn how to orient the pieces to be seamed, manage the stitches & work this fun technique using a third needle.
Make 1 Right vs. Make 1 Left (M1R vs. M1L)
Saturday, August 26, 11am
Learn the M1 (Make 1) technique of creating right-leaning and left-leaning increases in patterns. Often used in mirrored pairs for shaping, directional increases add a polished, finished look to knits. These stitches create a smoother appearance than a simple knit front & back increase. Learn how to do the increases, the differences between the two, as well as useful tips on remembering how to do the increases.
We look forward to seeing you at these relaxed, informative events! No sign-up is required, just drop by the store.
