Shannon Dunbabin, the fabulous designer & owner of Cascade Yarns will be taking guests on a color theory & yarn tasting experience.
Workshop #1
Cascade Yarn Tasting Experience, 2/10: 11am-1pm
Share in this wonderful knitting (or crochet) experience where you will have the opportunity to swatch with an assortment of Cascade yarns. Spend the morning relaxing & knitting while Shannon speaks to the fiber & construction of each yarn. Learn what types of knits each yarn is appropriate for & have an opportunity to see what stitches look best with each yarn.
The complimentary workshop will include various yarns to swatch including 128 Superwash Hand Paints, 220 Superwash Sport, Bluefaced Leicester, Eco Merino, Hampton, Noble Cotton & Woolpaka to name a few.
To attend the workshop we ask that you are able to cast-on, knit, purl & bind-off or the equivalent if you crochet. Here are the required materials you will need:
- A wide assortment of needle sizes from US 3-US 15 or hooks size D/3-N/P/15 (you will have the opportunity to swatch lace weight yarns up to super bulky weight)
- Pen or pencil
Workshop #2
Cascade Color Theory Workshop, 2/10: 2pm-4pm
Hone your color skills at this colorful, approachable workshop. In the workshop you will receive a color wheel, as well as samples of 220 Superwash Aran. The afternoon will begin with Shannon covering the basics of color theory & how to use a color wheel. You will then have an opportunity to play with different color combinations using a simple slip stitch or simple crochet pattern.
To attend the workshop we ask that you are able to cast-on, knit, purl & bind-off or the equivalent if you crochet. Here are the required materials you will need:
- Size US 9 needle or I/9 or J/10 hook if you would like to crochet
- Pen or pencil
