Cardigan is worked in pieces and seamed. The armhole shaping is based on an 18th century style that is a combination of set-in in the front and raglan in the back, with no shoulder seam; the front armhole wraps over and is sewn to the raglan line of the back.

Fronts have a knit-in slipped stitch edging along the open edges.

Shawl collar is knit in one piece with each front and shaped with short rows.

This is an advanced pattern requiring good seaming and finishing skills.
