Umbriel is a folksy A-line pullover with delicate lace plackets at the chest and arms. Designed by Sylvia Watts-Cherry, the body is knitted bottom up to the shoulders with short row sleeve caps picked up and knitted seamlessly from the top down. Worked up in cosy The Fibre Company Cirro, this sweater is soft, light and very easy to style.
The Fibre Co. Cirro (40% Suri alpaca, 40% organic cotton, 20% Merino wool 225 m (246 yd) per 50g hank) in shade Divine 4 [4: 5: 5: 6: 6: 7: 7: 7] hanks. Our yardage given includes enough to knit an 8” x 8” tension swatch.
NEEDLES:
2.75mm (US 2) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle
3mm (US 2.5) circular needle or double-pointed needles for working a small circumference in the round (or size to obtain gauge)
3mm (US 2.5) 80-100 cm (32-40 in) circular needle (or size to obtain gauge)
TENSION/GAUGE:
22.5 sts and 38 rnds to 10 cm (4 in) measured over st st after blocking using 3mm (US 2.5) needles.
