Craft: Knitting
This pattern is available on Ravelry.
Spinnaker is a sweet summer top, worked up in cool worsted weight cotton Whimbrel. Worked in garter stitch with a small funnel neck opening, saddle shoulders, and a subtle stripe cuff detail, this is a simple top with interest in the knitting. Worked in the round from the bottom up with a little a-line shaping, the front and back are separated at the armhole. The sleeves are cast on with waste yarn at the separation and the yoke is worked in one piece, shaped at varying rates to create the saddle shaping at the shoulders. The three-quarter sleeves are then worked from the underarm to the cuff. The back neck is raised slightly with a little bit of short row shaping.
A note about our dyed cotton: Some colors may show dye runoff during blocking or washing, especially with highly saturated colors; this is normal. It’s very important to wash and block your striped swatch to check for colorfastness.
