Craft: Knitting
For the RIVERSIDE sweater, the body is worked in a simple textured pattern of knit and purl stitches and the sleeves in plain stockinette stitch. The body is first worked in rounds from the bottom up and then divided into front and back sections. The work is then continued in rows, with decreases on both sides for the dropped shoulders. The shorter back section ends with sloping shoulders, while the somewhat longer front section ends
with a straight shoulder edge and a neck opening. The shoulder seams are knitted together invisibly from the inside and shifted to the back. The sleeves are then started directly from the armholes and worked from the top down in rounds with sleeve shaping.
