Craft: Knitting

This pattern is available on Ravelry(goes to new website)(opens in a new tab).

After the creation of my Golden Rings cowl and loving knitting this beautiful Smocked Rib Stitch, I wanted to create a fun-to-knit sock pattern. Knitting these socks with such an amazing yarn was an honor! Thank you Malabrigo for choosing my pattern to be part of your July Quickies 2022!

Construction

These socks are knit toe-up and have an afterthought heel. After creating the toe, we continue on pattern until a bit before the heel. We set up the heel placement and continue to the cuff that is decorated with these sweet Rings, called the Smocked Rib Stitch. We bind off creating a nice picot edge at the end. Video for all techniques are provided in the pattern.

What is an afterthought heel? The afterthought heel is an alternative for anyone who wants to knit a pair of socks but is intimidated by turning and shaping the heel. Both the sock and the heel are knit in the round and there are absolutely no short rows.
