Craft: Knitting

The PEPPO trousers are worked from the waist downwards. The waistband is folded over and knitted together with the cast-on edge; this lets you insert a wide elastic band which will help the trousers stay up better. After the waistband, the trousers are worked in rounds in stockinette stitch. Short rows are incorporated to make the seat section somewhat roomier to accommodate a nappy. A gusset is added for a comfortable fit; then the legs are worked separately in rounds. Above the cuffs, a short section of each leg is worked in half fisherman’s rib.

Sizes

The sizes correspond to a body length of 50–56 ( 58–68; 70–80; 82–86; 88–92 ) cm and an approximate age of 0–2 ( 3–6; 7–12; 13–18; 19–24 ) months.

The trousers fit comfortably with a loose-fitting seat for optimal wearing comfort. The length of the legs can be adjusted above the cuffs (turned up or long) according to the size of the baby.
