The May cardigan is a soft, lightweight piece with strong structural and textural elements. Knitted flat from the bottom up with fronts wrapping around to meet at back neck, this open-front cardigan features cartridge stitch and a simple, architectural shape.

YARN:Quince & Co. Piper / lone oak 612 / 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins

NEEDLES:

32" circular in sizes US 4 and US 5 [3.5 and 3.75 mm] / spare circular in size US 4 [3.5 mm] / set dpns in size US 4 [3.5 mm]

GAUGE:

23 sts and 33 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stockinette stitch with larger needles, after blocking /

27 sts and 33 rows = 4" [10 cm] in cartridge stitch on larger needle, after blocking

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Long-tail and cable cast ons, three-needle bind off, seaming (links provided); twisted stitches.
