A wonderful project for stranded colorwork lovers, the Yol Moorie Beret/Beanie by Gudrun Johnston is an engaging knit that is also a delight to wear. The kit features Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift for an authentic heritage wool experience. There are two style options in the pattern for a beret or traditional beanie.
Jamieson’s produces authentic yarns grown & spun on the Shetland Islands. Located in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland, Shetland has a rich hand knitting tradition & is known for stranded colorwork. Fair Isle is part of the Shetland Islands.
Shetland Spindrift is a 2-ply, fingering (jumper) weight yarn that is ideal for stranded colorwork & knits into extremely warm, durable garments that may be passed down through generations.
