This pattern is available on Ravelry.
This hat is not for the woman who likes to disappear in a crowd. It is an attention-getter that will most certainly draw admiring glances and spark a conversation - an Icebreaker. Life is all about making connections!
Although the hat looks complicated, the pattern is quite easy. Previous experience with cables would be helpful, but this could also be a good first-cable project.
This hat can be knitted using a variety of bulky yarns, but a softer, not-stiff yarn works best. Malabrigo Mecha produces a stunning result. The hat pictured was knitted in Mecha Piedras 862 and required about 190 yards. Three skeins will make two hats.
The hat is knitted flat and is topped off with a fur pom pom. A pattern chart is included. The pattern is for a 20” hat, but the size can easily be adapted by changing the number of repeats. The hat can be test-fitted as you go!
