Knit stitches, purl stitches--the basic bits of knitting. Used together they can create all manner of fancy fabrics. But even in simple repeating combinations, like those in the Dolan Beret, they can be dramatic.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
18" [46 cm] brim circumference, unstretched
YARN:
Quince & Co. Osprey shown in leek 131 / 1 skein
NEEDLES:
16" circular needle in sizes US 8 and US 9 [5 and 5.5 mm] / set of double-pointed needles in size US 9 [5.5 mm]
GAUGE:
16 sts and 24 rnds = 4" [10 cm] in moss stitch with larger needles
NOTES:
Beret is worked in the round from brim to crown.
