The pullover is worked in pieces from bottom up and seamed. The mock turtleneck is picked up and knit after the sweater is seamed. The first and last stitch of back, front and sleeves are selvedge stitches, denoted as . The type of selvedge stitch changes throughout the garment. All Sl1 wyib are worked knitwise.
