Craft: Knitting

This pattern is available on Ravelry.

Fond childhood memories conjure up the old, peeling, and extremely weathered white picket fence that bordered Deb’s grandparents’ driveway. Each Spring, this fence was full of bright, almost fuchsia-colored sweet peas that wove their way around each and every picket and through cracks and holes. Lace flowers mimic the twisting and twirling sweet peas while the garter ridges delineate the individual fence pickets.

This short-sleeved raglan yoke pullover is worked in the round from the bottom up, with a lace panel worked on the front only.

Two shaping choices are provided for the lower body. The first is a no-shaping option where the lower body is a straight tube having the same number of stitches at the lower edge and bust. The second choice is a slight hourglass option used for the sweater shown. It has gentle waist shaping and a hip circumference about ¾” larger than the bust circumference.
