Sorrento by Antonia Shankland
Woolfolk Stra, colors S6, S9, S1
Get swept away to the streets of Sorrento with a dramatic, all-season scarf or wrap knit in Woolfolk Stra. Soft, yet crisp, Stra (the Danish word for straw) is a delightful yarn spun with soft Ultimate Merino wool & linen.
An ideal blend, the DK weight yarn possesses lovely drape & just the right amount of structure.
Sorrento by Antonia Shankland is a beautiful pattern written with two sizes. The smaller scarf version adds a finishing touch to outfits & is ideal for summer months. The large wrap is a generous size & becomes a cooler weather statement piece.
Enjoy the fun construction & learn a new skill! The shawl is worked flat in stockinette stitch with single purl vertical lines. After the knitting is completed, crochet vertical lines are worked over the purl stitches.
No worries if you do not crochet, as Antonia has simple, well-written instructions on how to create the single purl lines with a crochet hook. It simply involves inserting the crochet hook into a purl stitch, then purling up a loop of yarn, inserting the hook into the next stitch, pulling up the next loop & so on.
