Davoch Mitts by Ysolda Teague
Rauma Finullgarn

Embrace the rich tradition of stranded colorwork with the Davoch mitts by Ysolda Teague. Beautiful & functional, the design is inspired by Norwegian Selbu mittens, as well as an Estonian garment pattern. Ysolda has designed the mitts to be a creative opportunity to really explore & have fun with color.

The mitts may be worked in two contrasting colors for a more Nordic feel or bring in additional colors for each section, reminiscent of Latvian & Estonian designs.

One of the best yarns for stranded colorwork, Rauma Finullgarn is spun in Northern Norway with 100% Norwegian wool. The mill has been operational since the early 1900’s creating incredible heritage yarns.

Materials:

The mitten pattern is sized S-XL. It is worked in the round.

  • 2 color version: 1 ball each of two colors Rauma Finullgarn (high contrast colors really show off designs ex. black & white)
  • 3+ color version: 1 ball each of three or more colors Rauma Finullgarn (a great starting point is two high contrast colors & a bright pop of color)
  • Size US 1.5-3 double point needles (based on gauge & size knit)

Be inspired by over 100 colors of Rauma Finullgarn to customize your design.
