The Alpine Shawl is a study in the blending of color & texture. The piece combines Malabrigo Arroyo (100% superwash wool) with Blue Sky Fibers Prairie (Suri alpaca/ baby Huacaya alpaca) for a soft cozy knit with visual interest.
Designed by Jill Tamminen from Knit Sisu, the shawl has a modern asymmetrical structure and shape. The pattern introduces techniques and repeats that can be used at any time throughout the piece, giving knitters the freedom to create a unique piece.
The stitch techniques used are not advanced (knits, purls, yarnovers, knit front/ back), but create a wonderfully engaging knit for knitters across all ranges of skills and experiences.
