A textured treat, the Textili Shawl by designer Tanis Gray is a colorful, yet soothing wrap. Fun & satisfying to knit, the shawl is worked flat back and forth in rows on the bias. Working with two colors at a time, one strand is worked at a time with the colors being alternated on transitions. For a tidy piece, the garter edging is worked on smaller needles, while the body is worked on larger needles for nice movement.
The pattern is a sequence of knits, purls, knit 2 togethers (K2Tog) & knit front backs (KFB), so it is achieveable for experienced beginners as well. The shawl is knit in Urth Yarns 16 Worsted, named for the 16 micron extrafine Merino wool base. It is lovely!
Soft & smooshy, 16 Worsted is hand dyed in a stunning array of tonal colorways. The round twist gives this plied, worsted weight yarn beautiful stitch definition & a polished look. The superwash Merino wool is machine washable & wears well.
The colors have been chosen to provide an impressive array of gradients The subtle tonal variation in each colorway gives knits nice depth & interest.
