Urth Yarns Spiral Grain Sport

Inspired by the spiral grain growth patterns found naturally in trees, Spiral Grain Sport is a stunning, 3-ply yarn spun with 100% Superwash Extrafine Merino wool.  An absolute pleasure to knit & crochet with, the yarn is spun to create gradual color changes.  Each of the 3 colorful plies works beautifully with the other creating amazing depth of color.

Enjoy knitting sweaters, cardigans, shawls or accessories such as hats, mitts or cowls.  The yarn is also lovely paired with a solid or tonal for interesting stripes & color blocks.  A tight twist delivers crisp stitch definition.  Be inspired by the palette of nature-inspired colorways.

Urth Yarns is committed to producing high quality yarns hand dyed in the full array of beautiful colors inspired by the world around us.  Crafted by a talented team of women in studios located in Mersin & Istanbul, the Turkiye-based brand supports fair wages, pleasing work conditions & the local working population. In addition, the company partners with Trees for the Future in which a tree is planted for each sale of a skein of Urth Yarns.

*Please note that due to the spinning process of this yarn, each skein may vary in color, as each is unique.  This will occur within the same dye lot & is the character of the yarn.  The photo endeavors to be the best representation of the colors in the yarn, however you may receive skeins that differ slightly from the photo.  The dye lots will always match.

Artisan hand-dyed yarns have natural color variations from skein to skein. Our team will do their best to choose the best matching skeins for your order. Here are some tips to get the best results when knitting with hand-dyed yarns:

  • Purchase enough yarn for your entire project
  • Alternate skeins by knitting two rows from one skein, then two rows from another skein. This will help to blend color differences.
