Join us every Monday, 3/4-3/18 from 6pm-7:30pm for the complimentary “Rabbit Mittens Stranded Colorwork Help Along.”
Part class, part knit along & all fun, the Help Along is our version of a class where we will have plenty of knitting help, but with a relaxed structure so that you can knit at your own pace. We understand everyone has busy schedules, so the Help Along is structured with that in mind. Whether you start a few weeks in or have to miss a week- it is no problem. We will get you started from the beginning or picking up right where you left off.
Every knitter needs a pair of delightfully warm mittens! Perfect for keeping out chilly air, these adorable mittens feature a snug, ribbed cuff, as well as one of the beautiful stranded colorwork designs that Arne & Carlos are known for.
The mittens are knit in the round, beginning with the cuff, in two colors of Rowan Norwegian Wool. The cute rabbits & thumbs are embroidered using duplicate stitch at the end. Arne & Carlos refer to the mittens as looking like they have been “painted with yarn.”
Rabbit Mittens Stranded Colorwork Help Along
In the Help Along you will learn the following skills:
- Choosing the correct mitten size
- Reading a colorwork chart
- Small circumference knitting using double point needles or a small circular
- Putting thumb stitches on hold, and picking them up to knit thumb
- Duplicate stitch
We recommend purchasing the Rabbit Mitten Kit prior to the help along. The kit includes the following:
- 5 balls of Rowan Norwegian Wool:
- 1 ball each of Cloud Dancer & Frost Grey
- 1 ball each of Gold Nugget, Peat & Cappuccino
- A printed copy of the Rabbit Mittens pattern by Arne & Carlos (pattern includes instructions for size small & large mittens)
*Kit requires size US 2 & 4, double point needles or 10” circular needle
**Needles are not included in kit
