Whatis the required gauge for the crochet version?
This is the same and only helmet liner crochet pattern that I have found anywhere. There is no gauge on any of those I have found and considering the fact that fit is critical for our armed services members, this is a big problem. Why bother. Military guidelines require that these helmet liners fit and that gauge is critical to the point if it is off within 1/2 of a stitch per inch for the knitted version, it renders the helmet liner useless.
I didn’t realize that there was no gauge on this pattern. If anyone wants to let me know what the gauge should be, I’ll make sure to update it.
Is the military still accepting crocheted liners? I keep reading that there were so many problems with fit that they stopped accepting them. Instead, crocheters are asked to crochet scarves, 12 x 42 inches only. Please let us know. Thanks for organizing the donations.
Unfortunately, this is accurate information. The Military is not
accepting crocheted Helmetliners any longer. But they are accepting the
Crocheted Scarves and the size is 12X42 inches.
would they like mitten liners?
I am looking for the crochet pattern for the helmet liners.
