Who are we?

Wool and Company is located in downtown Saint Charles, Illinois and  is a full service knitting and crochet store.  In addition to our bricks and mortar store we offer a full e-commerce capability at www.woolandcompany.com.

Our mission is to spread our love of knitting in a fun, creative and informative way.

Knitting with Company has been one of our most popular community events since we first opened our knitting store store for business in 2000 and Knitting with Company is just one way that we deliver on our mission.

Every Friday morning, Friday Evening and Sunday afternoon knitters from around the western suburbs of Chicago congregate at the “center tables” in our store to share their knitting and crochet adventures.  Stories are shared, friends are made and the community is extended.  Come and join us.  If you can’t make it then maybe we can share a little of our community with you through this web site.

    • Hi Jane … we have carried that color … not sure what quantity we have on hand right now. If you call the store at 630.444.0480 someone could quickly look on the shelf. Also, we are about to re-stock on Alpaca 2 … so if there’s a specific request we can make sure we get it. We’ll be ordering tomorrow (Wednesday) so make sure you let us know before then.

  1. Did you know that the description of Meg Swansen’s handknitting book is actually describing something vickie Howell wrote?     See what comes up when one searches:  schoolhouse press

  2. This Summer or Fall, do you plan to have a class for the Einstein coat/sweater and the Elizabeth sweater?

    Thank you.

    • Hi Mary Louise

We will be developing our fall schedule in the coming weeks. We will probably have an Einstein class … it’s a perennial favorite. We’ll take a look at the Elizabeth … make sure that we have your current email address on file and you’ll get notification as soon as we add any classes.
